My journey began with a deep commitment to serving others, which led me to work within the Georgia state prison system. There, I honed my skills in providing support to those navigating difficult circumstances, gaining invaluable experience in crisis intervention and rehabilitation.

Following my time working in the prison system, I had the privilege of working with the U.S. Army, where I provided counseling services to military personnel and their families. As a military spouse myself, I understand the unique challenges faced by military families and am deeply committed to offering tailored support to help them thrive.

My career path then took me to Palmer Lake Recovery, where I worked with individuals struggling with addiction. This role allowed me to develop a deep understanding of the complexities of substance abuse and recovery, and I am dedicated to helping my clients achieve lasting sobriety.

Now, at Mindfulness Counseling, I enjoy supporting a diverse range of clients. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma, addiction, or life transitions, I am here to offer a safe and supportive space for healing and growth.

Outside of my professional life, I find joy in spending time with my husband, sweet cocker spaniels, and my adult children. My family and pets bring me great happiness and balance, and I understand the importance of a strong support system in maintaining mental health.

I look forward to the opportunity to work with you and support you on your journey toward wellness. Together, we can navigate the challenges you face and uncover the strength within you to create a fulfilling and meaningful life.

I believe healing happens when insight and action come together. Many people understand why they feel stuck, but still struggle to create lasting change. My approach to counseling helps clients explore the deeper roots of their challenges while also building practical tools for real-life growth and progress.

I would describe my style as warm, genuine, and gently confrontational. That means I offer compassion and support, while also helping you notice patterns that may be keeping you stuck. Therapy with me is not about judgment—it is about honesty, healing, and creating meaningful change.

I work exclusively with adults and specialize in trauma and addictions. With over 10 years of counseling experience, I have had the privilege of helping clients navigate anxiety, depression, personality disorders, shame, relationship struggles, life transitions, and the lasting effects of difficult experiences. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe enough to be real, challenged enough to grow, and supported enough to heal.

As someone with Colorado roots and strong family values, I understand the importance of connection, resilience, and finding balance in life. I also believe laughter can be an important part of the healing process, and I strive to bring warmth and authenticity into the counseling room.

Reaching out for support can be one of the hardest steps—but it can also be the beginning of lasting transformation. If you are ready to do the work of healing and growth, I would be honored to walk alongside you.

I am currently pursuing my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Walden University. My journey into counseling began during my earlier studies in evolutionary psychology, where I realized my true passion lies in helping people on a personal, one-on-one level rather than through research and teaching.

I started my career as a mental health specialist at Cedar Springs Hospital. This experience opened my eyes to the profound impact of early intervention for clients and families navigating mental health challenges.

I transitioned to Recovery Village at Palmer Lake as a behavioral health technician and later to case manager, a position I held for five years. In this role, I developed essential skills in advocacy, care coordination, and individualized treatment planning.

Throughout my studies and various experiences I have had the privilege of working with children to older adults, supporting clients facing a variety of mental health challenges including, trauma, anxiety, depression, and conduct disorders.

I strive to create a warm, welcoming, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe to explore their experiences and work toward healing. My approach is collaborative and empathetic, focusing on empowering each person to build resilience and discover their inner strength.

I was born in Alaska and spent much of my childhood moving across the country as part of a Military family. After earning my B.S. in Pennsylvania, I decided to move back to Colorado, where I enjoy the natural beauty and outdoor activities. When I’m not studying, you can find me hiking, camping, snowshoeing, or skiing in the Rocky Mountains with my wife and our two dogs.

I am currently pursuing my Master’s in Social Work at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs, with the goal of becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Addiction Counselor. I am currently working as both a social work intern and a licensed addiction counselor intern.

My path into this work is deeply personal. As someone in long-term recovery, I bring both professional training and lived experience into the counseling space. I understand firsthand the challenges of navigating mental health and substance use, and I am passionate about helping others find stability, purpose, and lasting change in their lives.

I began my work in the behavioral health field at Peak Recovery Center, where I served as a Client Care Aide and later as an Assistant Medical Department Manager, focusing on detox services. I later continued my work at Recovery Village at Palmer Lake as a Detox Therapist, group facilitator, and individual therapist intern. These experiences have played a major role in shaping my counseling style and approach to working with clients.

Throughout my work, I have supported individuals navigating a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, relationship issues, and major life transitions. I strive to create a space that feels safe, genuine, and nonjudgmental, where clients can be real about what they are going through while also working toward meaningful change.

I believe one of my greatest strengths is my ability to build genuine connection and rapport. I aim to meet clients where they are, offering empathy, honesty, and compassion. My approach is collaborative and solution-focused, while also allowing space to explore deeper patterns and challenges. Above all, I truly care about the work I do and the people I have the privilege of working with.

In addition to my clinical work, I serve as a Resource Advocate in the community, supporting justice-involved individuals and helping connect them to critical resources such as housing, treatment, and ongoing support services. I am also actively involved in the Colorado Springs recovery community.

Outside of my professional life, I enjoy spending time with my wife, our dog Cheesecake, and our grandkids, as well as taking advantage of everything Colorado has to offer.

Whether you are navigating addiction, mental health challenges, or a difficult season of life, my goal is to walk alongside you, support your growth, and help you move toward the life you want to build.

Any questions?
